Ski Weekender’s founder, used to be a snowboarder but is now to be found more often on skis. Although largely office based these days he enjoys grabbing a pair of skis whenever he gets the chance to accompany guests for a quick ski in all of our resorts. A fan of a cheeky beer of an evening, he is often in the lodge bar chatting before dinner.
Now in to his sixth winter with Ski Weekender, Teak is well settled in the Aravis with his family, and as a keen skier and road cyclist he makes the area his playground all year round. Teak plays a vital role in helping Paul with general operations around the business, and is always up for a chat over a beer to talk about great days out on the slopes or in the saddle.
Having stayed in the Aravis to look after our cycling guests this summer, Rachel is back running the show in the Lodge for her second winter. Having thoroughly enjoyed all that the area has to offer throughout the long hot summer, Rach is now looking forward to sliding down hill after a summer of cycling and running up them!
David, originally from York, where he ran the many kitchens at York racecourse for more years than he cares to remember. Finally deciding it was time for a change he moved to Spain, during the summer working in restaurants and now spending his winters in the Alps. Following fabulous feedback, David is back for his second winter in the Aravis.
Gabby is pretty much part of the furniture here at ski weekender. Hailing from the land of the long white cloud, after having spent the last two winters and summer here in the Aravis, she feels as though it’s a home away from home. She’s looking forward to another winter of shredding the slopes and spinning some yarns with the guests, whilst helping them to make the most of their trip.
This is George’s first winter season with Ski Weekender, although not his first ever, having wintered in the nearby town of Les Gets as a manager in a boutique chalet. George loves being in the mountains and dabbles in activities like climbing, ski touring and paragliding. He is looking forward to exploring the Aravis mountains this winter and sharing his experiences and knowledge with our guests.
Cathy has been enjoying a long awaited career break volunteering with a donkey sanctuary and a children’s charity. Having visited the Aravis hotel a number of times as a guest, she enjoyed it so much that she’s coming back to work a ski season with the Skiweekender team. Cathy will be part of the outdoor team making sure that our guests get the most out of their time in the mountains.
John joined us for a brief stint at the end of the summer and liked the Aravis so much, he decided to stay! He has spent the Autumn making sure that the Aravis Lodge is ship shape and ready for our winter guests. A keen cross country skier having competed for the army, John is looking forward to exploring the trails around the Aravis as well as enjoying the excellent down hill skiing on offer.

Having headed out to Saint-Jean to experience her first winter season with SkiWeekender, she has since then done a bit of travelling around Europe and has just finished a 2 month volunteer project on an island in Fiji! She enjoyed last season so much that she couldn’t resist heading back to the mountainsand helping make sure the guests have an unforgettable holiday!
Yosta grew up in a family-run restaurant in the Irish mountains. After 4 years of studying Interior Architecture, she escaped to the Caribbean to combine her love for travel and hospitality. Swapping sand for snow she then moved to the French Alps for her 1st ski season. Yosta then worked on a yacht travelling all over the Mediterranean, but has been itching to get back to the snowy mountains and can’t wait to join the team this season!
Chloe is our 19 year old from Plymouth. Having just recently finished her A levels she has spent 3 months working in the north of France and TRYING to learn to French. She has been skiing since she was 5 years old so very much looking forward to spending quality time in the mountains and hoping that this will be the first of many. Very much looking forward helping make our guests’ holiday truly memorable.
With the arrival of the cold, wet snap in Belfast and with the daily rain the thought of spending the winter indulging his hobby of rebuilding a truck became less appealing; having visited in September a winter in the fabulous Aravis seemed a much more attractive proposition so Ben is looking forward to getting out to the Alps and spending time getting to know the area and our guests.
Briar is looking forward to her second season with Ski Weekender and hopefully will be another amazing season. Part of our Front of House team last season but this year she is working as David’s assistant chef. She grew up baking and been practicing a ridiculous amount over the summer to bring our guests some tasty afternoon teas after a full day of skiing. She’s looking forward to improving her skiing even more and making some even better memories.
After spending a fantastic summer by the sea, Mel is looking forward to coming back to Ski Weekender for her second winter season. Having falling in love with the mountains first time around, she has decided to hit the slopes again for another year. Her aim is to ensure all the guests have a comfortable and memorable stay at the Aravis Lodge, giving great customer service and delivering it with a smile.
Bella’s mum worked for us last season and must have said some good things, as Bella has now swapped the Australian sunshine for a winter in the Alps. Having come to Europe earlier this year and spent the summer combining her love of travel with some work, Bella is looking forward to improving her snowboarding skills as well as getting stuck in behind the scenes as a member of our housekeeping team.

Katy is also on her first season with Ski Weekender, as the 3rd member of the UK sales and reservations team, so is another of our first points of contact. She is looking forward to helping guests make the booking process as smooth as possible, so they can enjoy every part of their trip.
