Ski Weekends and Midweeks for Singles and Solo Travellers
Although we do not run specific ‘singles only’ ski holidays, we are pleased to offer a range of ski packages that are single-traveller friendly.
These holidays are ideal for those looking to ski on their own, or wanting to meet people and get to know and join other skiers on the mountain.
We are able to offer Ski Weekends and Ski Midweeks without single-supplements in some accommodations.
In others we offer the chance to opt for a same-sex shared room to remove any additional payment.
Le Grand Bornand – our favoured solos & singles ski resort
Le Grand Bornand is a charming ski resort favoured by us, because it is perfect for a singles ski weekend or short break. It is a thriving little resort, with lots to do and a variety of ways you can meet and get to know others, in both a skiing and social environment.
Also, it is here we offer our highest levels of service and support for solo skiers, helping anyone on your own to meet and find other like-minded skiers, if you wish to.
You can either choose to stay on a fully supported ‘Classic Package’ at our own sociable, friendly chalet-hotel The Aravis Lodge – or on a ‘Lite’ basis at Hotel la Pointe Percée.
The Aravis Lodge – a sociable chalet-hotel perfect for singles
A perfect location for any type of ski holiday, but single travellers really love the friendly, relaxed and sociable nature of the Aravis Lodge, supported by our own ski team assisting throughout.
The communal dining room, large bar and on-site ski room are all places where people meet and become ski-buddies.
It’s quite common for guests to leave us having made friends, and for them to return again for future ski holidays together!
Although we do not have any single rooms, we do we offer twin-share options to try and avoid the single supplement where possible.
Ski Hotels with no single supplement options
At Hotel la Pointe Percée in Le Grand Bornand, there are 2 single rooms available with no single supplement, subject to availability.
These stays are on our ‘Lite Package’, including all the base elements of catered accommodation, full Aravis region lift pass giving access to both Le Grand Bornand and neighbouring La Clusaz, and airport transfers, but on a slightly more independent basis (not communal dining etc.), and without our own permanent team on site.
However, guests staying in this location location can still take advantage of our Snow Rep service, which may help them meet fellow skiers and find someone to ski with!
Snow Reps Service – the new Ski Hosting
Sadly due to more rigorously enforced legislation restricting skiing with groups, we are no longer able to offer our popular ski hosting service.
However, we recognise the importance of such a service for our solo skiers, and have put in place an alternative which can be accessed by anyone staying in Le Grand Bornand or La Clusaz.
One of our ski team will be available at the top of the telecabines to provide information and guidance on where to ski, and he or she will also follow this up with a presence at a designated coffee stop and lunch stop. At each of these they will try and facilitate skiers coming together and mixing in, finding buddies etc.
We also provide an opportunity for guests to meet up in the evening and ask any questions to our Snow Reps as well as potentially meet other guests.
Please contact us if you would like further details of our Snow Rep service>>>
